Simply AP-palling!

Seniors and their AP courses...

There are a number of ways to foretell when a conversation is going to go downhill. One that I've run into especially often this year is that fatal question: "How many APs are you taking this year?"

The answer I give is three. Then, there comes a bit of a tipping point. If those asking are AP overachievers like me, they might shrug it off and nod. Otherwise, their pupils dilate. A little steam escapes their ears. And then comes the real death knell: "Why?"
