A makeup fanatic's heaven, Sephora, opened a new store in Carousel Mall on Oct 29. Now this isn't like any small makeup stand in a department store. Sephora is an entire store devoted to makeup brands including facial care like cleansing products and other products of the like as well as perfume too.

I've been to countless Sephoras, including ones in Boston, Short Hills Mall in New Jersey, a couple in New York City, and even one overseas in Poland. And the truth is they are all for the most part more or less exactly the same. And Syracuse's is no exception. From wall to wall there are countless different mascaras, liners, nail polish, skincare products, and everything in between.

A great thing about Sephora that you won't find at stands in department stores comes from the fact that they do not sell only one specific brand ,though they do sell Sephora brand items. If you need help finding the right eye liner for you, they'll really help you find one that fits your needs, rather than just selling you one brand like what they commonly do in department stores. In addition, the employees are extremely helpful. You can easily go up to any one of them and they'll help you either find what you're looking for or teach you how to apply the makeup in the right way or even do it for you. This is a characteristic that is available at Sephoras across the board. From my experience at each of the Sephoras I've been to including the new one here in Syracuse I've found that employees are extremely helpful and really know what they're talking about.

Though Sephora's pricing is relatively high, the makeup they carry is high quality. Some of their brands include Smashbox, Mac, Philosophy, Bare Escentuals, Lancome, and nearly 200 others. A good percentage of the time they'll have some samples to offer you with your purchase. If you really like the store you may want to consider becoming a Beauty Insider at Sephora which will allow you to collect points for the money you spend and even get little presents for your birthday. First Urban Outfitters, then Chipotle, and now Sephora. Now only if we had a Nordstrom.
