Chipotle restaurant is coming to Syracuse. The Mexican restaurant, famous for its burritos and tacos, will be moving into an open spot across from Shoppingtown Mall, at 3496 Erie Blvd. East where the CITGO gas station used to be. It could possibly be built and finished this summer, according to the Post-Standard.
The Jamesville-Dewitt High School community seems really thrilled about the restaurant. Freshman Natalie Frank says, “I’m so excited, the restaurant is quick and easy, but is also good quality.” Her friend, also a freshman, Alyssa St. Amour, adds “I went in New York City and it was so good, I can’t wait.”
Senior Brent Fallon says the food is “Frickin’ delicious”. Junior Dan Distefano says “I went like a year ago, and it was good. I’ll be sure to go to this one.”
The restaurant may not have a huge variety of menu items, but what they do make is apparently some of the best around according to the 135 reviews on their website. The menu option includes the Burrito, Burrito Bowl, Fajita Burrito, Crispy Taco, Chips and Guac, Soft Tacos and Salad. The website includes a link to the ingredients included in the food, and you can even customize your own burrito, according to Chipotle.com.
Erie Boulevard is getting other restaurants and shops, too. CiCi’s Pizza, which has a buffet of salads, pizza, and desserts, is moving into the spot the Yukon River Grill used to occupy at 3237 Erie Boulevard East, and is looking at a late June opening, according to the Post-Standard.
Freshman Cole Jaworski is happy about the addition of CiCi’s Pizza, “I liked the pizza, specifically the cheese for some reason.” And freshman Nick Wright says, “I have never been there but I hear good things about it, and the commercials are good too.”
Plato’s Closet, a teen clothing store, will be taking over the Honeybaked Ham shop next to the KissMart car wash and gas station. Honeybaked Ham will relocate to another unknown location sometime this spring, according to the Post-Standard.
So, this summer, Syracuse will be full of new restaurants with some tasty food.
